Liverpool have announced the appointment of Arne Slot as their new manager, effective from June 1st, 2024. The Dutchman has signed a long-term contract with the Premier League giants after a compensation package worth up to £94 million was agreed with his current club, Feyenoord.
Slot, 44, has earned a reputation as one of Europe's most promising managers during his successful spell at Feyenoord. He led the Rotterdam club to the Eredivisie title in 2023 and the KNVB Cup this season.
Slot will replace Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down as Liverpool manager at the end of the current campaign after seven successful years in charge. Klopp guided the Reds to Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup triumphs during his tenure.
The appointment of Slot marks a new era for Liverpool, who will be looking to build on their recent success and challenge for major trophies under the Dutchman's leadership.
